The key to the overly aggressive shift into second is retaining the stock spring. In other words, You change all the other springs but leave the stock one in for second. This will keep it nice while still allowing the trans to shift crisp and comfortable.

This is an option for the IPT VB, I have no idea on the other one that Spoolin does.

    Hey RIjon,

I read your blog posts regarding the VB upgrade (IPT and Spoolin67). I have a SC'd Tundra and am tired of it's soft/lazy shifting since motor is blown. However, I read a few posts where guys were concerned that at low or relaxed driving, their shifts were abrupt, like slapping them in back of head. One guy's wife didn't like it and he was offput by how course his trans is. That's one thing I don't want. Does your IPT VB shift like this? Can IPT or SPoolin relax the tension of the springs to make the shifts less ferocious? I am not track driving my truck but want to firm up shifts, the same was I did to my TBlazer SS when I installed a chip. That tranny woke up but was tolerable in easy driving conditions.

    WHat do you think?

    Regards,

    RIck
