    Thank you for the information. I did this a long while ago to my first gen Taco and used some welding leads I had that were no longer needed. That install was nice enough that two shops were not sure which was the original factory battery.

    My main reasons are these;
    1) at least one full hard winch pull with my 10000 lb Warn with the engine dead. like for instance I am stalled in a stream.
    2) protection against the dead battery because of the many phantom drains constantly pulling small loads. right now, my truck will go dead if not run for 3 to 4 weeks.

    I do wish the Tundra had a secondary dedicated battery spot like most of the Chevy's seem to.

    again, thank you!

    While you have everything being installed keep in mind you need to pull power from your new second battery to places where it will be useful. Don't forget to put a fuse on every power supply coming off your batteries. If you don't plan to use a fridge or wire up accessories then you don't even need the IBS system. Just wire in two batteries and let them share the load all the time. I let one battery operate my 12v plugs, rock lights, bed lights, bed 12v plugs, fridge, etc... This way you can run the secondary battery flat and your truck will still start. Even if you leave the key on and run your starter battery dead you can always link the batteries and let you secondary battery assist the starter battery to bring the truck back to life. The IBS system has a manual link which will share the batteries for higher load operation such as winching but let you trick accessories as I described too.

    I really relied on the install crew to figure out the big problem of custom building the battery tray. I posted some information in the dual battery thread but you can get in touch with Mike Espinoza at M&M Automotive
    Phone: 801-572-3150
    Here is their website: M&M Automotive | New dealership in Sandy, UT 84079
    About ordering up a tray for your own truck.

    The Dual battery system I like is this one: https://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2074

    You will also need to be prepared to customize the battery harness. This will require some heavy duty cable and connectors which should be available at most any automotive parts store.

    Read over the IBS install manual: Manuals IBS - IBS
    This should answer most your questions about how to wire it up and how everything will work.
