If you're picky like me, you'll want the Toyota spec grease for your propeller shaft. Dealers don't know what you're talking about and probably just use the general purpose shop grease for everything. (And possibly that's just fine.) PDF showing lube points and recommended lube is attached, see bottom of post.

The grease I found is Mobilgrease XHP 322 Mine. It's an industrial grease that is water resistant and meets Toyota spec for the propeller shaft. Details:
Mobilgrease XHP? Mine Series

You can order here, $4.8/tube:
(I bought a case)
Mobil XHP 322 | Mobilgrease for Mining & Off-highway Equipment | NLGI 2 Grade

It's available elsewhere too but at something like $13/tube it's more $$ buy it in small quantities.

Very good grease, remember to only use Moly fortified grease in low speed high load applications. U joints are a specific no no as the roller bearings can develop flat spots. CV, driveshaft slip joints, Burfields (for you Land Cruiser guys) spring packs, etc work well with moly.

FYI, I found the grease needed per the spec called out by Toyota. Unfortunately my dealer was zero help (go figure), and all Toyota Corp could do was put me with a specialist that referred me to their page I already had! Anyway, Mobil makes 3 different consistencies of grease with Moly... .75%, 3%, and 5%. The 222 special has .75% which should be enough seeing as my local dealer said, "any ol' chassis grease will do". [emoji849]

Sounds like 3% or 5% is really just overkill after talking with Mobil Tech Support.

So here's what I got from my local Grainger...
