Thumbs up New wheels and tires...Suggestions?

I'd like to put some wheels and tires on my 02 4WD Tundra. It's completely stock right now. I'd like to buy a wheel and tire combo from somewhere like Big-O so they could mount and balance them while I'm there. I'd like to stay with a 16" or 17" offroad style wheel and a good set of tires that will give good grip off road and on road. I don't want to lift the truck. I'm really not sure where to start looking lol. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good set of wheels and/or tires?

Thanks a lot,
Jason C.

The Wheels are a subjective matter that you must decide on man. The tires should not be too hard to get. You need to narrow down your question.

American Racing has many nice looking rims. I am on my third set of BFG All Terrains. A great tire and looks very tough. Look around on here and you will find numerous pictures of different tire and wheel combos. Most guys list what they are.

I have had great experiences with Discount Tire. Bought wheels and tires from them for my last vehicle, they have good prices and great customer service. Also you get free shipping, mounting and balancing.

A great tire like what you are looking for would be the Nitto Terra Grapplers!!! They are made by Toyo which is a good brand and I have these on my 02 and they are amazing on and off road!! On the road you don't get the sidewall roll like you do with most others and they grab real well off road!! And they are fairly inexpensive if you look around!! Good Luck Man

T-Sak, are you happy with the amount of noise the Toyo's put off at highway speeds?

Where are you out of cause if you are at all close to me I'll take you for a spin and you can see for your self!! Anymore questions feel free to ask!!

Just that the BFG's look 100 times meaner than the Nitto's. Don't get me wrong though both will perform well. Just depends if you want to fork out more $.

I have never had them on my truck but I have riden in another truck that had them on and the Nitto's are definetly quieter but as far as looks wise the BFG's look a hell of alot meaner but the Nitto's in my opinion are an all around better tire!!

Im not sure what the Nitto's weigh but the BFG's come in at about 60lbs each, this hurts your mileage. Im not sure what the Nitto's weigh. I also like the Toyo's and a local tire shop sells them.

The Nitto's weigh approximately 45 pounds a piece but if you would like to know for sure I can take it to my buddies tire shop and find out exactly what they weigh cause mine have only 500 miles on them so it will be relatively close!

I will find it online somewhere. I looked the Toyo's up just a bit ago and they are in the 42-45lbs range. I might run these as compared to the BFG's which come in at 60lbs.
