What is your Toyota history?

When I was growing up my Dad owned an Automobile service shop and we were a big Ford family. Lots of Mustangs and early year Broncos. When I was old enough to drive I began having my share of bad experiences with "the big three" vehicles. It was in 1997 that I bought my first new Toyota Tacoma SR5 4WD. I was instantly sold on Toyota. From there I got my first generation 2000 Tundra SR5 4WD V8 and I was so satisfied I told myself that as each generation of Tundra changed I was gonna own that new model. Here I am now with a 2007 5.7 SR5 2WD Slate Double Cab. I am one happy Camper. What's your History with Toyota?

my start with toyota was a brand new black 2003 tacoma double cab sr5. i kept it for just over 4 years and only had about 40,000 miles on it. i never had a problem with the truck except for the day that i paid it off, i decided to back into a tree at my parents house. then in 2007 i saw the tundra crewmax and had to have one. so i got one!

When I was in high school my dad had a 1993 Toyota Tercel that he drove from the IE to palmdale everyday that eventually got 140K. Then he upgraded to a Tacoma 2001 and to this day that has 190K. Both vehicles had minor service done only routine checks. That was a no brainer for me when buying a truck it had to be a toyota. I figured Toyota had to be doing something right. So 3 years ago I bought a 2001 Tundra AC V8 2wd dark green with 115K. I figure I still have a while before I need to start looking. But when I do will definitly be a Toyota.

Started off with my dads 1988 Toy Hi-lux 4x4 with the 22R engine. Great truck. Dad still has it now and in cherry condition. That sob won't quit. (truck not dad) We normally always have had Toyotas and had great reliability and resale value with them.

I have personally owned a 2000 Taco 4x4 xcab (my favorite) and a 2005 Taco 4x4 4 door long bed. Sold each one to upgrade. Of course have my current Tundra.

That's my story and i'm sticking to it.

I have had an 88' extra cab longbed SR5, 93' extra cab 4x4 SR5, 99' TRD Tacoma 4x4 SR5 (stolen quickly), 99' Tundra 4x4 SR5, 2002 Tundra 2wd SR5and currantly have a 96' 4 runner & 07' Tundra 5.7 DC longbed 4X4. Needless to say I am a happy Toyota owner and this is the second 1st year vehicle I have bought from them and hope this one turns out like the last one except for getting stolen part.

I started off training on my dad's 83 Toyota Celica GTS 5-speed, then it got stolen from the front of the house, so he went and bought a Chevy Monte Carlo, after breaking down on the 5 a few times he sold it, and bought an 82 Toyota Celica GTS, then he left, and mom bought a 79 Celica GT 1600 Special Edition with a sun roof (rare car with the 22r.) After taking at least 15 rear end collisions (I kid you not) a broken tail light, and 2mm dented quarter panels. Cali mandated insurance, shortly after a cadillac rear ended us in a rather small fender bender the insurance totaled it, and took it, it was still running strong. We then bought an 89 Corolla, and rolled the odo over before overhauling the engine, since then I bought a 2002 Celica GT with now issues, and now I also own an 07 Tundra 5.7L DC Lb. sorry its a lil long.

I first started off by working on the Tundra Site Crew last year for the SE portion of the states. I had applied for a job on Craigslist only knowing that it was for a major vehicle company debuting a new truck.

I then got a phone call stating that I was being offered a job promoting the "new" Tundra and that they would be giving me new Tundra trucks to drive around and show off at shows and construction sites to market them.

I was trained to know everything about the new Tundra so that when people approached me that I would know everything about them. They really emphasized on what to do when that Ford owner came up and said, "At least my truck is made in America!" Then my reply would be "Yes, Mexico is in North America."

I had the experience of driving a "show truck" that was actually used in the photo shoot for the XSP package but yet it wasn't an XSP truck at all. It had all of the exterior features of the package but nothing for the interior.

It was a great job at first (who wouldn't love driving a free truck!) until the home/personal life was interrupted. I went from traveling one weekend a month to being gone up to 15 days at a time in a hotel. (Keep in mind that I had to pay for the hotel first then get reimbursed 4-6 weeks later.) My girlfriend was telling me that I might as well get a tattoo that says, "Property of Toyota" on my ass. Living and breathing trucks was awesome but it took its toll upon me and those around me.

After quitting that job all I could ever think about was getting my own Tundra. I had fallen in love with a truck that I never owned and could never do any modifications to it. So, I woke up one morning to run some errands and came home with a truck.

So, my history is short but the rest of my life will have a positive effect because of my introduction to Toyota. I had a '07 4.7 V8 DC Tundra, a '07 5.7 V8 DC Tundra Show Truck (completely loaded), and now have my own 2008 5.7 V8 DC Tundra.

Mine history is limited as well because I've been a Ford man for most of my life. I owned two Toyota sedans during the 1988-1991 time frame while stationed on Okinawa. The cars were trouble free and were part of many good family memories of our time on "The Rock." I bought my Tundra in February; slightly over 2000 miles on the clock at this point.

I to grew up in a ford family. Everyone has a toyota now. I bought my first Toyota, a '89 PU V6 Xcab 4X4 in '92. I loved that truck and drove the hell out of it. I rolled it when some $%##$ made a left in front if me. We were on the way back from the desert so when we rolled it all went camping gear, dirt bikes and all.

I once again drove a ford again for a year or so untill I bought my '00 Tacoma. It was a great truck (well is I still have it for now)

And '07 I needed more room and wanted to tow the Jeeps without killing myself so I bought my Tundra. The End?

My '06 Tundra is MY first Toyota. My spouse has had many a Celica, and they have been awesome. And we have a Solara covertible, which is fantastic!! I have been a Ford fan for a very long time. When I was looking to trade my Super Duty, I decided that I would drive a Tundra, as well as an F-150. I felt that the Tundra completely out classed, the Ford F-150, which was a Lariat, Super Crew, 4x4, with the 5.4. I took the Tundra out for a spin, and was love at first drive. I went back to my Ford dealer, and was shocked to find myself saying that I wanted the Tundra. I haven't looked back. The Tundra IS the best truck I have ever owned!!!

MOPAR muscle since my teens. Last truck was a HEMI Ram. My recent purchase (05 Tundra) replaced my Ram and the $500+ per month fuel bill.

Love my Tundra, miss my Ram.

Cheers,

Bob

I had a 03 Tundra before I got now a 07 Tundra.
The 03 Tundra had not one problem for 48.000 miles in the 4 years I had it.
Too bad that the 07 Tundra has this rust problem!
