Peel it or keep it?

I saw some guys dip and then color match their chrome bumpers. I used black dip (I've never seen the white or red anywhere in my area) then I sprayed two coats of base and two coats of clear.

I haven't polished it out yet but I'm not sure, what do you think? Don't hold back.

Looks good to me, but then again I like how just the black dip looks on mag grey.... Didn't think u could peel it off after putting the color match paint on top.

You can, just not as easily. When you have the color matched paint on top of the dip, the dip doesn't stretch when you peel it off. Instead it flakes. Takes a little more time, but same result in the end.

Looks great! Keep it! I want to do this with mine.

I really like it and would definitely keep it. It flows rather nicely.

Yeah it makes it a little harder so I put eight or nine good coats of dip on it before to make it easier to pull off if I decided too.

If you don't have a metallic color, has anyone got the blend your own color kit?

I think the color turned out a little bit off because of the black plasti underneath with the metallic paint, the paint is transparent to a degree but yours is darker so I think you should give it a shot!

They also sell a gray plasti-dip at dipyourcar.com that might be a better "primer" for the color match paint.

Which color match paint did you use and where did you buy it from? Also, how many cans were needed to do both bumpers?
