Cleaning the interior

The sales man at toyota told me that armor all would eat away at the dash. Anyone have any suggestions.

thats weird and why? I use meguires quick interior detail. It seems to work well with the odd surface material of the tundras dash. I use to use tire shiner on my dodges dash and it shined a hell of alot more than any interior detailer, but tried it the first time i cleaned my tundra and it didnt work. The dash on the tundra seems to absorb the cleaner.

Ya know I've had my truck for a year now and have only whiped down the dash but never treated it with anything. Ya your right the dash does look porous. I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread for a solution. Heck maybe just vaccume it with a brush attachment.

I use one of those swiffer dusting wands. It came with a dusting spray solution and folds up so it fits in my glove box. I just spray the duster and wipe everthing down. Works really good and cuts down the static on the stereo plastic. I had the dealer treat it (not sure what) because it scuffs real easy. Seems to be better now.

I've been using Maguires but I hate how it smells. Looking for a replacement.

I've been using a slightly damp rag. Here's another question for ya:

How to take out the scratches from the plastic? I've scratched the speedo plastic face and the plastic on the readout in the center of the dash (clock, mpg, etc)....

thanks

Walmart sells a headlight resoring kit , it's for plastic and it's suppose to fill in scratches .

I second the California Duster. It works on dash and stereo. Any chemical that somewhat helps the dash, smudges on the stereo. I use the small detail one for everything inside the cab. Even the door jams.

Does the area around the stereo knobs fill up with smudges and fingerprints?

shiny dash = not good

My 04 Titan had a light-grey dash and it reflected badly in bright sun. It was visible in the windshield and obscured about 20 ft in front of the truck...really irritating. Keep it dull and dark! I usually use a damp towel to swab-out the interior. For petrified dog snot I use Windex vinegar wipes.
