Question about scratches and chipped paint...

I'm kinda new at posting questions on here. Sorry if the questions are confusing.

I have a 2002 Black Tundra. There are some scratches that don't look that deep to me, but nothing will take'em out. I haven't tried buffing the truck. I'm afraid I'll make it worse lol. I was thinking of takin it to a body shop to let them buff out the scratches. Do you guys think the shop could buff out the scratches?

There is also a deep paint chip where somebody banged their door against the truck. There's a little rust starting to form on this spot. I was thinking of just sanding out the rust here and using touch up paint. The spot might be about as big around as a thimble maybe. Will touch up paint cover a spot this big and look decent?

Thanks for all your help,
Jason C.

There's lots of talk on this site about Tundra's and thin paint so just do a search bro and you will find all kinds of info. Talk to a body shop about using that wax with color in it, that might help out with the scratches.

Pix..I'm all over it lol

You're right. I need to get some pix of it before it gets covered in mud . (I haven't got to play off road any in it yet, but I'd like to someday lol). It's finally sunny here, so now I can take a decent pix. Thanks for your help man.

You should try a good swirl and haze remover with a orbital. I have a Black Nissan Titan and had a ton of swirls ( light scratches ) and with the Adam's Swirl & Haze remover with the Revive polish it took about 90% of them out on the first quick go at it. I will do it again soon.

You should also post up a pic of the chip, I have been reading your trucks paint sounds about as crappy as the Titan's. Very weak!
