I haven't seen or used it before but from the writeup it sounds like it is a solvent based sealant. The solvent evaporates and leaves a thin film which bonds to the paint. Will it last 5 years without reapplication, I would doubt it. You also cannot wax or polish (think compound) your your car otherwise their warranty is void.

Do a google search and you will find it mentioned all over the various online forums.

Isn't that the same stuff Toyota will put on your truck for $300.00 extra? They call it something snazzy to make you think you're getting what you pay for. Please let me know what you find out. I'm interested!

Yeah pretty much. We talked about this in another thread but i can't remember the title. "Paint Sealant" maybe.

Anyway, the stuff is actually pretty decent. The dealership's price includes a 5 year warranty. I think i paid $100 or $150. You can get a bottle of this stuff cheaper but i think the price is worth the warranty and peice of mind.

However, If they were charging $300 I would have probably just bought a bottle and applied it myself

So you can't wax your truck for 5 years after applying this stuff? What will happen if you do?

They said i can wax it if i want but there's no need to. I had the same thing applied on a 2004 Mazda that i just traded in last month for the Tundra. I NEVER waxed the Mazda and people would always compliment me on the paint (Girls would just say "Your car is always so shiny"). They never believed me when i told them i didn't wax it.

Honestly, when you wash it, it looks like it was just detailed.

Go with the dealership if you want the warranty or just save some coin and buy a bottle online. Either way you won't be disappointed.

I think the other product is Klasse???? Damn i need to find that thread......

Sweet. If I didn't spend 70 bucks on my Zymol Titanium wax, I'd buy it right now. When I run out of Zymol, I'll give this a try.

syber,

You can wax but not polish out swirls. My mistake above. You can still pick up a sealant for use under the wax and it should make your vehicle look like it is wet.

The klasse is an all in one product. Sealant and chemical paint cleaner. You would use that to remove all wax/sealant and make sure the sealant in it adheres well to the paint. You wouldn't want to use this on top of the other stuff.

Straussr,

Glad to hear this stuff lasts a long time. May be worth looking at again.

I am just a little wary of the solvent base evaporating after opening the bottle and having it sit> Basically one bottle one or two uses type of thing.

I've waxed my truck once, back in January. On the following wash, I used a quick detailer and to this day, water just beads up and rolls off. Not sure if it's the wax or the detailer. I should really take my truck into a profesional to have it polished. Then seal it up with something like this. I have the number of a guy with a good reputation for removing swirl marks and imperfections. I need to give him a call.

No luck man. It wasn't from my wax job though. What happend with mine is about a week after I bought it, my wife thought it would be a good idea to have it washed by some "mobile detailer". I had already told her to NOT do that, but she did it anyway, thinking I was just being over protective. I get home from work one day and my truck is washed. The next morning, I noticed swirl marks all over it.

As long as you make sure you wash it really well, get the paint really clean, then wax it, you should have no problems. YOu actually need to wax it as soon as possible to get that layer of protection on it. I wish I would of gotten a chance to wax my truck before that douchbag mobile detailer got his dirty rags on it.
