Using airbrush to touch up paint

Has anyone touched up their Tundra with an airbrush?

Ha that would be a bad idea. Even with a white truck you would be able to tell. Color matching is really tricky and also you would have to sand it down a little on that area and the end result will be crap. If you have little scratches look into toyotas touch up paint stuff or dupli-colors paint touch up. Dupli does have all manufactureers and there respective models with all the factory paint matching. And dupli will prob be cheaper.

Actually, it's quite common for body shops and others to use air brushes for touch-up. It takes skill to do, but I've had it done with terrific results.

Any professional will tell you that brush-on will always be lumpy and aerosol can sprays are the absolute thinnest pants there are and will never look right or last.

As far as "Dupli-Color" goes, it works ok, matches pretty good, but you'll never achieve a finish even close to the original. A pro will color-match, not simply use paint off-the-shelf.

Cheers,

Bob
