Anti-Chip cover ?

My dealer is offering a plastic coating that goes on top of the paint. It will stop paint chip damage .. but I don't know if I like the look of the plastic where it ends on the fender. It leaves a almost invisible line, but I also wonder what if you need to repair the hood or fenders in the future?

My brother has owned his own body shop and tells me to get to the paint, you would of course have to sand off the plastic coating.

Anyone have any ideas about the wisdom or lack off it, in adding this protection?

It's just like removing decals...use a blow dryer and some alcohol to remove the sticky residue.
