If I absolutely had to buy a truck today it would be the tundra, without a doubt. Chevy, Ford, and GM are all great trucks, but the tundra is just that much better. What sells me on the tundra is how well the power train works together (motor, tranny, axle gearing, brakes). It's a 3/4 ton truck that drives and gets the economy of a 1/2 ton. And it runs like a beast off the showroom floor.
I haven't bought one because it's an "I want it" and not an "I need it." I am super cheap, but I'm trying to find a way to make it work. My two choices are buy a DC tundra or supercharge my existing truck. I'm leaning towards the tundra right now. The tundra will cost a little more to get into, have better economy, be as fast as I need it to be, doesn't require 91 octane gas all the time, and should bever blow trannies or rear axles.
Work is busy now for me so I'll decide this fall. Typically the best sales are then and people are the most motivated to sell. Good luck with your decision.
P.S.
