For everyone's information, Toyota Canada and Toyota USA are two different companies!
I bought my Tundra at an (all brands) dealer here in Toronto. I called Toyota Canada to register my name as the new owner and when they punched in the VIN numbers of my Tundra their computers showed an "error". Meaning the truck doesn't exist . They told me to call Toyota USA to register it . I called Toyota USA and gave them the VIN number and it showed up on their computer (as it should) BUT, they said that seeing as I am a Canuck and have the truck in Canada, warranty issues will have to be dealt with Toyota Canada.
I called Toyota Canada for the last time to register my truck and the rep repeated the same line the Toyota USA told me saying it's an American issue. I really got ticked off with al this B.S. and felt insulted with all nonsense and emailed both head offices. Finally a rep emailed me back saying that they now have all the information about me and Toyota Canada will honor the warranty on my Tundra.
Personally, they don't need the publicity. They're screwing up big time and looking bad with all the recent recalls. All at the cost to be #1. If Toyota denied me the remaining warranty on my Tundra I threatened to park it across the street from Toyota Headquarters here in Canada plastered with picket signs . I included that I would drive it in front of all the major Head Office competitor truck plants here namely; Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc. for everyone to see how Toyota treats it's Canadian customers.

Davey , read carefully . He said it was a pain , not that they did not honor his warranty . And he bought in Canada .
