You've got a problem if you're blowing at 15 amp fuse with your controller. I've got the same brake controller and it wired into the factory harness no problem and no blown fuses. By putting in a 30 amp fuse you're running the risk of setting fire to your entire wiring harness and most likely your truck. You might also be heading down the road with whatever you're towing and suddenly find you don't have any trailer brakes.
I strongly suggest you find the problem and put back the 15 amp fuse. The fuse blowing is telling you you've got a load problem or short somewhere.
You should have received a small trailer plug and wiring harness with your truck. This hooks up one-to-one with your brake controller and plugs directly into a female plug located under the driver's side kick panel. If you didn't get one go ask the dealer for one.
