Canadian trucks are also much different, as they are set up for the cold weather. Weatherstripping, battery, altrenator, belt and tensioner assembly, driveline fluids, etc are all Canadian spec and different than that of the American spec trucks. Warranty is still valid, but is a much longer and drawn out process to get things done under warranty. Also, retrofitting is also necessary...guage cluster, reflash the ECM, DRL's, etc. Pricing has been adjusted in 2008 as a reflection of the strong Canadian dollar, and is now quite comparable.
Until the end of May there is Red Tag days as well, which offers a $2000 gas card or cash discount in lieu of the gas card. Some dealerships offer additional discounts as well. Most of that is regional as well.
As for the TRD riding rougher, I have had no issues. I have the TRD package (2007 DC), and it rides pretty much the same as all of the others I have driven (approx 30 or 40 of them, both with and without the TRD package, Limiteds, base models, etc).
