The vehicle stability control (VSC) is for the people who should not be driving, ie. morons who roll Explorers over. I turn it off whenever I get behind the wheel. I will not tolerate the truck dictating to me how much throttle I can have or when the brakes need applying!!!! To turn it off, you must be at a complete stop and hold the button for about 5 seconds.

But it seems like there's a warning in the manual to not drive continuously with it off. Maybe I read it wrong or there's nothing to worry about.
