Maybe a photo of your plate on the dash near the vin #. If (they) would have seen it they might not have bothered to take the plates.
Might sound stupid but I had a camera watching my M3 at night and once recorded some guy sticking his head up under the car cover. Two months later they broke into the car next to mine and with the recording the pair were busted as the cops could see where to dust for prints.
