You're not going to necessarily get more miles out of your tires if you put more pressure in them. Too much pressure can wear your tires out even faster than underinflation. 55 pounds isn't enough to do any harm but 40 pounds will get you the same wear and is alot more comfortable.

Yeah, I'm going to call the other tire places in town to see how much they normally balance the KOs with.
Is there any problem with running that many ounces on there? I don't mind it but I can feel it in the steering (and even in the braking).
