I have had five Chevy extended cab 6.5' beds in a row. I was pleasantly surprised at how much more comfortable and useable the rear seat was in the Tundra double cab vs. the Chevy. The Chevy does not have acceptable leg room or seating comfort for adults and is even marginal for children, especially if there are car seats involved.
The Tundra Double Cab is acceptable for adults, children and even car seats and you do not have to sacrifice bed space, which for me was a huge plus.
If you use the passenger capacity more than the cargo capacity, the Crew Max is certainly more comfortable. However, if you like or need the added cargo capacity of the Double Cab, you would not have to appologize if you had passengers ride in the back seat.
For me the choice for the Double Cab was easy and a very nice compromise between the poor rear seat and rear seat space of the domestic full size trucks and the Crew Max that ate into my bed space too much.
