?'s about stock, 4 speaker stereo.....
First off, "I sure wish" I could get the JBL upgraded system. Unfortunately, it's not offered in the regular cab Tundra...... and I'm not willing to spend $3000 more on the extra cab, + $1000 more on the JBL system.
Anyway, here's the scoop. I'm 43 years old, and for many years, I had an outrageous stereo... 14 speakers surrounded the cab, from tweeters, to 12" subs, and 4 amps, which totalled 900wts at .05% dist...... and all of this was in a regular cab Chevy S10 {had the back of the cab, and front of bed cut out, so the sub box in the bed could be sealed up against the cab}.
So the point is, after 10 years with a system like that, "nothing" sounds loud anymore, and I don't really expect it too.
On the other hand, the little stock CD system in my Hyundai Accent sounds surprisingly nice. Loud ? No. But crisp, and clean. It also has a couple of high mounted tweeters, which helps a lot, as treble is so directional.
The question is, for what it is (in it's own class) how well does the stock Tundra system perform ? Does it have high mounted tweeters in the doors ?
Guess I should go listen to one.... But just curious as to what to expect....
Thanks,
Fish
