WOT it sounds like a jet. I have one on my Fj Crusier...
It seems to have a little more pep .
the biggest selling point would be the filtration. I do lots of rock crawling .. which means I do lots of dirt driving to the rock crawling.. combined with being in the Phoenix, AZ area makes for lots of dirt in the intake.
I tried a K&N drop in ran a trail came home pulled it and saw lots of dirt that got through the intake.. So I cleaned it( thinking th elememts wasnt oiled good enough) re olied it and put it back in. Ran another trail, pulled it to the same result. I immmediately pulled it and dropped the stock back in never to use it again.
I did the same scenario with the true flow and my intake has been clean for the last 20,000 miles
I will be washing and re oiling this one soon but I think I am still breathing much better than a new stock filter.
If you watched the demostration on filter comparison it would give you a pretty good picture why the true flow is better for your engine protection. Have you ever wondered why they recommend a pre filter over the filter if you are in very dusty situations??
