[quote=Captain Ahi;86881]But modern fuel injection directs fuel directly on a hot intake valve. This has 2 adverse effects, one being a cooler valve and the other being a very precisely atomized measure of fuel.
I know all about all the different types of FI.I drove a brand new 57 Chev off the show room floor that had a Rochester mechanical FI,worked on the Hilborn direct port mechanical FI,worked on blown AA/G and fuel cars that had 2 butterfly injectors on top and some of the newer computer controlled units.
EFI,MPI,DPI,and they are all the same,more air,more fuel,=more HP
You say that spraying fuel directly onto a hot intake has adverse effects?????
Cooler air+cooler fuel means a denser charge and the benefit is the molecules
become smaller therefore your get more A/F into a given space and when combusted you get a bigger hotter explosion that results in more HP.Also when you speed up the in coming air you get more air into the open valve faster and again bigger boom. The fuel injector itself and the design and spray angle plus the rail pressure determine how the atomization is form and when and how it's combined with the in coming air charge.

Cold air Intakes are different from what you're talking about too. CAIs' in principle tries to draw air from a cooler area resulting in a denser air charge. Denser air results in an increase in power.

Nope again.I know what a CAI is and how it works. But the prime subject here is not all that pretty plumbing you get but the larger diameter of the filter medium itself that lets more air in.The pretty shinny stuff just directs and increases air flow. Again faster moving cooler denser air=more HP.
If you look at the black plastic that the TB is bolted on to.Dang gone don't that look like a 1/2" TBS
One thing I did forget to add.My 98 TJ was a DPI computer controlled system with a TB.When I put in the 4.7 stroker motor from Hesco I also added a larger TB,a CNC TBS, along with Mustang GT Cobra size injectors.Went from 190 HP up to a little over 320.Matched RC injectors, blueprinted, and balanced. That thing would boogie.
