It is not as powerful as the 5.7L, but I am very happy with my 4.7 (4x2). I saved myself a lot of money, got a good deal for it. I have 1400 miles on my truck, I do mostly city driving, I am getting around 14.3 in the city, I feel it keeps improving, could get better but I usually find a lot of traffic (rush hour before/after my classes/work), I drive up on a 7 floor parking garage everyday in my campus, sometimes more than once. The way how you drive it makes a big difference. I really did not need so much power, the 4.7 works great for my needs

. I have 0 complaints about my truck.
I went on a 4 hour trip last week and averaged 17.9, going like at 70-75 constantly. The toneau cover helps a lot on the highway/road.
Now if you are thinking on doing some serious towing or you can easily afford the big engine go with the 5.7
just my opinion gl
