BTW,I build drag race engines and drag race myself,turbo lap top cars,and 1050 Demon big block Chevies,and worked out of Ashland Oil for 20+years which is now Marathon Oil.Used to haul JP-8 to Pratt and Whitney down in W.Palm Beach to use in the SR 71 Black Birds several years ago.SEVERAL??,more like 20 years ago.Time sure flies by when you are having fun.
This 5.7 engine can be unlocked by using a stand alone Accel Gen VII DFI by using it's own sensors,that will allow you to adjust rpms.speed limiter,injector duty cycle,and fuel pump pressure.The OEM will still run everything else.
However,HMMMMMMMMM,that would be 1200 for the DFI,1000 for sensors and new wiring,1200 for a new lap top,600 for interface wiring and DFI CD ROM,plus the cost of special tools for install and the knowledge to do the job right,so go SC and forget all that other stuff,but then again that's another 5k for the blower plus all the other hubs,wires,belts.
I think I'll leave my 5.7 stock,except for a CAI and exhaust and 87 octane,do a plug read every 1500 miles and see how things are going and when I want to go fast and quick I'll fire up my 468 cid,M21.67 Camer and gitter done.But that uses 117 octane,whew it's all up hill from here................
