Actually 6 psi from a turbo charger vrs.6 psi from a supercharger would gain you more net hp.A supercharger depending on whether you have an underdrive, overdrive,or a 1 to 1 ratio. It will cause a parasititic HP loss in direct relation on how much boost you are running, whereas a TC has no loss as it is run by your exhaust gas. However a SC has one advantage over a TC as there is no spool time or turbo lag.

Only thing a TC or a SC does is cram more A/F ratio into your engine over normal asperated. The tourqe and HP curve are dertermind by lift, duration,of your cams and how your timing is set up.

Another thing is engine bay heat soak with the SC,but then again you don't have to worry about your EGTs as bad.At 1200 DF aluminun starts to melt.

If our 5.7s where a true 10.2 CR then about 6/7 psi is all that engine will stand. Now if we have fordged rods and pistons and 8.1 to1 CR then you could boost up what ever the crank would hold.Maybe 20 psi which should give us somewhere in the neighborhood of 500+ HPYou be alookin at close to 600 at 20 psi.
