I also thought the doors unlocked and locked to trap the person inside? My door opened.. I also set the alarm and hit the window fairly hard from the outside and no alarm went off. I was under the impression that I also had the GBS? Do I need to hit it harder??
Does this mean that my alarm is activated? I paid for it, I want it to work..

Yours is a Limited, I believe they come with the alarm activated. GBS is optional.
I just went out into the garage and tested mine. The red key in car indicator light went solid for 30 seconds after I locked the truck with the fob.
After 30 seconds the key in car indicator light began to flash again. If I tried to unlock the door manually the door relocked and the horns/headlights went off.
However, If I simply pulled on the interior door handle the door did open and the alarm also went off. So, yes yours is activated.
To test the GBS the window should be tapped firmly with a
light hard object, such as the your key. The GBS is attuned to the frequency of glass, it shouldn't take a breaking blow to set it off. Also, you may be able to find out from your dealership or any Toyota dealership. They can run the VIN and if GBS was factory installed it should pull up on that.
