Tomtanium, just to share this info with you to hopefully help you out..You inspired me to call a local dealer, in SA, and ask them how long it would take for a special order- if I end up having to do that when I am ready to buy, and they said 3 weeks max! Maybe re-ask your salesman how soon you can get it (now that the order has been placed, and he could not sell you a unit from inventory) and maybe you will find out that the truck is available for delivery sooner than you were originally told.
