I have a knocking in the engine when cold. Goes away after it warms up. Dealers don't seem to know anything or they are not talking about it. I have built a few engines years ago, and when using forged pistons you have a little noise at startup that goes away when the piston swells up to size. Could the tundra have forged pistons or undersized cast pistons, causing the knock.
Mine definitely has piston noise when cold, but only if giving it gas. This is everytime not occassionaly, even if stopped for a half hour then restarted.
