K&N CAI vs. rain/wet weather vs. other cai

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of putting a K&N cai on my 2008 5.7 tundra, but now that I've seen some of the other cai on the market, I'm having reservations...
I had a K&N 77 on my Chevy, and I loved it, except when it rained. When the weather was dry, I noticed better gas mileage and much quicker throttle response. But when it rained, it seemed to get worse mileage and no improvement in throttle response.
Has anyone noticed this on the K&N, or was it my imagination? How about on Volant or other CAI kits?
