Anyway, I was driving home the other night and needed to pass a couple cars. I had the throttle down for a little bit and when I went to let off, the truck kept on going. Man I was already up to about 85-90 when I was passing and it jumped up to 110-115 pretty quick. I was pretty freaked out because I thought the throttle had stuck open, but it turns out it had caught the edge of the rubber mat. Normally it would be pretty obvious that was what happened, but it was dark and I couldn't see it. I figured it out pretty quick, but I figure I would extend a warning out to any of you guys who have a similar setup.
I bought Weather Tech Tundra mats and I put them over my carpet mats. Both are on the hooks. Had these since August. I even take these out to wash them. Haven't had a problem with them. They don't move and made to stay clear of accelerator. Toyota had to put the warning because someone was bright enough to entangle them. Weather Techs came with hooks along with the carpet ones. The notice is the same as McDonalds coffee. I even installed the Weather Tech mats for my wife's Prius. No problems there. They still hook on the hooks.
