I can tell you right now if it's a main engine seal they'll need to pull the engine. Weird thing is you saying the pressurized oil looked yellow. If it was just a main engine seal the only thing you should be leaking is a lot of oil, and it should look just like oil and nothing else.

The yellow tells me you've got contamination from something like coolant, which could be caused by a blown head gasket or cracked block.

This would also explained why the oil was pressurized and came blowing out at you... If you blew a head gasket you could be getting gases building up in your oil pan along with leaking coolant, or hot steam and coolant from a cracked block.

Anyway you look at it, it doesn't sound good.
