Yeah it's definitely better than the stock filter.
In addition to the extra hp, you should also notice improved throttle response.
I had removed (cut out) the charcoal evap filter element from the top of the stock air box as well, to further improve air flow. If you end up doing this be sure to disconnect the air box lid completely and cut out the evap filter (I used a box cutter) over a trash can so you don't end up raining charcoal pellets down into your throttle body intake tube.
