I am new to the forums and to get this out first with out getting bashed. i have a 07 Titan 4x4. this is my second Titan. I had a 05 before 2 wheel drive, i traded it in due to high mileage. that truck was great. eve with a 6" lift and 33" tires i will still gettin 16 mpg and towed great. installed TB spacer, cat back, and cold air intake and that thing waas just fast enough for me with great towing power.
now my 07 to say is disappointing is a understatemet. This all could be dealership service issues because they can not seem to fix the issue's even on the wife's 350 Z
First off the A/C was acting up and had a mind of its own and would shut off, or hit full blast air for no reason at all and the only way to fix it was shut it off then turn it on again then the controlls would come back. anyway I tried to tow my 4400 pound tow hauler and talking about struggling man it had a heck of a time, it would take 3/4 of a tank to drive 100 miles, 26 gallons to fill up each time.
I coulod get 315 to 320 miles on a tank of gas on my 05, 23 gallons on the average.
now my 07 I am lucky to get 260 on 25.5 gallons. during normal driving it would always down shift even if I only give it just a little more gas to speed up a minor amount.
Anway what I was wondering is guys with the 2 wheel drive and the 4 wheel drive, how many miles are you getting with standard truck and people with lifted trucks and say 33 and 35" tall tires.
How many gallons does it take to fill up ?
How is normal driving does Tundra seem to down shift allot just to speed up slightly ?
How is the towing, what kind of weight and how well is driving, do you seem to have to down shift allot to stay at 70 MPH.
please do not get me wrong I am so fed up with the 07 and Tom peocock because they have goofs for technicians but i have been seriously considering trading to a Toyota but before I do I wanted to know how everyone else was doing on these issue's.
I do not buy a truck based on fuel economy but woujld like to get the best of both worlds atleast a decent average. I can sacrafice fuel economy for power but getting 10 MPG and no towing or power is begining to irritate me.
I have found great deals on Tundra and ready to pull the trigger on a Crewmax 5.7 but if I still will only get 300 miles on 26 gallons it might not be much of a advantage to take a loss on my Titan being so new.
Constructive info would be greatly appreciated, I love the new Tundra and even drove one ( which I should not have have) because I love the power and feel but really need to know how every one else is doing on towing and fuel economy and how many gallons it takes to fill up
Sorry I tried to attach a picture but it seems to be to big and will not let me

here is a picture of my new titan
