Brand new '07 w/nightmare paint
I picked up my new '07 Silver Tundra Saturday and drove it home, about 80 miles...drove it to work once on Monday 70 miles round trip, then back to work again today(another 35 miles or so) and stopped at a car wash to spray it off on my way home.
As I sprayed the hood, I noticed 2 paint chips and I thought, "Better get some touch up paint." I kept spraying the hood then noticed more paint chips, and more, and more....the more I sprayed, the more paint chips I noticed, until I realized, THE PRESSURE WASHER WAS "CREATING" THE CHIPS!!!!
I stopped washing, but not after making about 30 or 40 1/8" sized chips in the paint. Now I know that a pressure washer should peel poor paint and not chip it, so I'm thinking maybe I was spraying off a crapy touch up job or something.(?)
Called the dealer and they said to bring it in, so 80 miles back to the dealer, with a grand total of about 305 miles on the odometer, and they tell me this is my problem, that I must be tailgating trucks or something!!! Even if I was (I'm not, EVER), they couldn't explain why there were no chips in the grill or chrome, nor why I would get so many in 300 miles. After they pulled me off the ceiling, a service manager said she would fix it by repainting the hood, but they didn't feel they had too...
Anybody want to buy an ugly truck?
