A K&N flat panel replacement for the stock filter is good, a closed box CAI is better. I went with the Volant and it definitely increased my throttle response, added 8 to 12 hp (realistically), and increased my fuel economy from .8 to 1.2 mpg... When I can keep my foot out of it. It also sounds awesome! It really makes the engine growl when you drop the hammer.

It's a mandatory item if you plan on (or have) a cat-back or header/cat-back combo.

If anyone wants my K&N flat panel replacement filter for the stock 07/08 5.7 air box, I'll sell you the one I bought just before upgrading to the Volant. It only has 300 miles on it so it's basically brand new. $20 plus whatever UPS ground is. PM me if you're interested.
