That may very well be it. I didn't see any ice along the visible edge of the window wiper molding, but that doesn't mean it wasn't glued to it further down past the edge of the door. I'll try your suggestion about the silicon and see if that does the trick... Or move to Hawaii where it's currently 80 degrees.
