You can try waxed floss but I doubt that it will be strong enough. I was using 25 LB. test fishing line and I was able to break a couple of pieces. I did not use a hairdryer when doing the removal. I've used that technique before and I didn't like it. I found that the heat just made the rubber gum up and difficult to cut.

I should say that I am VERY picky about my truck. When I say there are scratches I should say there is an 1/8 of an inch impression from the fishing line. It didn't really "scratch" the paint it just kind of left an impression in the paint.
