It's a permanent mount Nuvi offers on their website, but don't buy it there as you can get it $10 cheaper elsewhere... Here I just did a search, Amazon has it for $20 bucks.
Amazon.com: Garmin Automotive Mount for Nuvi (010-10723-04): Electronics
The mount comes with two different types of double stick mounting tape for the bracket. A semi-permanent tape and a permanent. Because of the curve of the A-pillar molding, neither one will work even though the base is shaped like an oval and isn't as wide as the round suction cup base plate that comes with the unit.
I got it to work by applying the permanent tape, then I cut two extra layers of 3-M automotive mounting tape to match the outline of the base. I then applied these to each vertical side of the base before pressing it onto the A-pillar molding. This makes the mounting tape higher on each vertical side than it is in the middle, and better matches the curve of the molding. It worked very well and is stuck on there tight.
Just make sure you clean the area with rubbing alcohol, and I'd suggest running your windshield defroster on high heat to warm-up the A-pillar first. Then press the base on hard and hold it for about 60 seconds.
