Speaking About Being Pulled Over...
Got pulled over by the local Highway Patrol last night at 2:30 AM as I was driving home from work. I knew I hadn't done anything wrong because it was one of the few times I wasn't speeding... too much.
The cop approached me on the driver's side, which I thought was weird because they're trained to come up on the passenger side for safety reasons, and it makes it easier for them to see if you're concealing anything.
Anyway, he comes up to the window and says, "I hope you don't mind, but I pulled you over because I wanted to check out your truck. I'm driving a 6 year old Chevy and I'm in the market." I told him, "no problem" and gave him the grand tour.
No surprise he was particularly interested in the 5.7, and really liked the looks of the Volant CAI. After I let him sit in the driver's seat to get the feel and view over the hood, he looked at me with a smile like a kid on Christmas morning and said, "Yep, I think I just found my next truck." I told him he'd love it, especially because the 5.7 Tundras make lots of power and haul "A"... "Up to the legal speed limit of course." He said, "Yeah, that's what I hear... Up to the legal speed limit."
He thanked me for my time, looked at the truck one more time and said, "Yep, that's the one."
Another Tundra convert in the making. I love a happy ending... Without tickets.
