My 2016 4.6 is averaging 15 mpg according to the computer. Currently 1600 miles on it. I drive seven miles to work and seven miles back home. So no long trips yet.

Past 2 years of driving I average 18mpg. Majority of my driving is highway. I will mention that I never use ethanol mix and only use 87 octane.

Been tracking MPG since I bought the truck new in June 2012 using the "Road Trip" iPhone App. I don't fill the truck until I have to put about 24 gallons in. My average daily commute during the work week is about 34 miles consisting of about 75% highway (60-65mph), 25% in town (30-35mph). I use regular gas from Irving or Sunoco typically to take advantage of loyalty discounts. Tire pressure is at about 42psi.

Ave MPG for the last 14 months is 15.04.

Long Term Update:
It's been over 40,000 miles since my last post on MPG. I've got well over 55,000 miles on my truck now. I've continued to use the same app to track my MPG over the years. Average since the truck was new is currently at 14.59 MPG. One thing you'll see in the pictures below is the significant decrease is summer gas mileage for this year. The difference is we bought a new 30' travel trailer that replaced our old pop up. We went camping 12 times over the summer, which was almost every weekend. I did have a couple of long trips in which the entire tank was pure towing, I achieved just under 8.5 MPG on those tanks. Before this summer, my average was right around 15 MPG. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the new trucks now have the 38 gallon tank option. Would be very tempting to upgrade to a 5.7 (or diesel) with the larger tank if the right deal came along

Better MPG at 115,000 miles?

i have been tracking my MPG for every tank since I bought my truck new in 2012... I was getting an average of about 16.5 to 17.5 mpg for every tank the first 4 years with some fluctuation when I would get new tires or something but the baseline I got was always around 17 or if I ran on the highway the entire tank on a roadtrip maybe 18.5.... well in about September of this year I started getting 18.5-19.0 consistently every tank. I did change out my air switching valve in November but the change in MPG was before that and has stayed there since then... I looked at past years to see if it might be the gas blend but historically that didn't affect my truck like this either...

obviously I am happy I am getting better MPG but my girlfriend always makes fun of me for tracking my mpg because she didn't see the point. I always told her that if I saw a change in the mpg it would warn me something is happening with my truck before it was too late... but now that I see a change I don't have the slightest clue why... I assumed the MPG would be going down if there was an issue.

I have decided to go through and do all the 100k-120k scheduled maintenance... transmission fluid, rear differential, spark plug , coolant, oil changes... I am at 115k miles and I had held off on all the maintenance because I have been considering trading it in for a new truck but decided a new home is more important for the time being.

anybody ever heard of an increase in mpg for a 4 year old truck with 115k miles with no recent upgrades to speak of??????

Do you get gas at a different gas station? Do you use a higher octane? I get considerably better mpg using mid-grade gas.

I use 87 octane and I do not track the gas stations I use so I do not have any history on that but come to think of it I have been going to WaWa stations more often as they have the best prices.... good point.

although I do not definitely go to WaWa exclusively but I guess if they are selling cleaner gas and my truck runs better consistently then those benefits would be passed on to the non wawa gas tanks mpg????
