I have a 2006 Tundra (38,000km) regularly serviced and it is burning 1 liter of oil every 8,000km. The service dealer happily refers me to the Toyota web site which states "A maximum of 1 litre of oil every 1,500 km is considered an acceptable oil consumption." What? Are you kidding me? (over 5 liters between services!). Toyota Canada help line was no help either. No one who I know who has a Toyota truck or even a car has ever had any consumption of oil like this. My business partner has the same motor with 120,000+ km with no consumption at all. (I checked it out myself). I have had numerous trucks and I love this Tundra. No drips, no leaks, just the missing oil in my motor and a slow burning of disappointment.
