took the tundra to get several things fixed (sonar stopped working, passenger mirror that vibrated, and for them to replace the splash guards they damaged last time).
I also mentioned the tailgate problem (I had already fixed and cable tied, but was more difficult to open since my repair) and the right driver's vent pointing up no matter what.
They replaced the clips in the tailgate with a newer design. Supposed to keep the rod from popping out, and it is much easier to work the handle :-)
The service manager (not the adviser, but the manager of the service techs) has a fix for the ac vent issue. They replaced the entire trim panel and modified it. The vent is slightly harder to position than the other ones, but holds in place. :-)
they replaced the parking sonar computer to no avail. Turns out it was a loose connection to the front sonar sensors. :-)
replaced the splash guards they had damaged last time. When they previously diagnosed the sonar issue, they had removed the bumper. Upon installation, they installed the plastic rivets into the bumper, then put the splash guards on. DUH. During my weekend trip, the splash guards fell down on top of the front tires. Imagine that, the tires won.
I also had them order a new passenger towing mirror. My old one shook with the slightest bump. The new one is not any better. The dealership is going to pursue that with the district toyota rep. Will see.
sorry for the book :-)
