So I think my smartphone generates more bass than the Tundra's system. I have the entune audio plus (plus what????) in my CM, but it needs some help. I don't want to change the head unit, but I need better sound. Even my beautiful bride said the stereo is weak.
I've seen pics of the JBL sub behind the seat that Toyota puts in....has anyone done something different? Sure wish we had access to behind that seat without having to remove the seat altogether. I know the space is small, but I'd like to put some straps, etc. back there along with a sub.
Have you done all the system updates? Not saying your going to be entering DB drags, but I have a good amount of bass for a stock system after that last upgrade. That said, I agree with you, I'd love to add more. I took my sub and amp out of my 2012, but it's sitting on the shelf as it won't fit.
Yes, I believe I've done all the system updates as I just clicked on the software updates and it didn't do anything so I'm assuming that means it's the latest version.
Nice truck!
I had a shallow mount sub behind the seat in my 2007 crewmax but unfortunately that won't work in the new crewmax. Its just collecting dust in my house now. I'm thinking of upgrading to component speakers and an amp in the future. You can achieve good bass from 6.5" woofers but this will be costly I suspect. I feel your pain though on the shitty sound quality!
I might put some inline bass blockers on the front door speakers to keep them from rattling and/or blowing.
Check out Audio Enhancers online. They offer a duel 10 and duel 12 enclousres for the CM tundra. Fox Box also make a sweet duel 10 box for the crewmax!
Call Debbie at Audio Enhancers she'll take care of you. There located right here in Ardmore Tn about 3 miles up the road from me. They didn't waste anytime when the 14's came out.
Thats a nice box (thats what he said). I had my box custom made behind my seat in my '14 crewmax and i had two JL AUDIO TW3 10 installed. Sounds sooo good now. I got the bass controler mounted beside my USB
How the hell do you guys deal with door vibration using just the standard system?
Playing bluetooth streaming audio through an iPhone means the doors vibrate at 70mph audibly above the music bass even though Entune Plus audio bass sits at 50% of max.
Its like the bass over rides the music. Your experiences/ solutions?
The rattling was soo bad in my drivers door i took it in for warranty and told them to fix it! My next truck might very well be another brand due largely to the fact that the stereo in my sisters 2014 toyota corrolla sounds 5x better. The corrolla is 1/3 the cost of my platinum!
I'm good now. The factory speakers were so weak. I did however keep the factory stereo (Entune audio plus) and it works fine. The owner of the shop also has a '14 and when I heard he kept the factory stereo (he does have the NAV) I felt at ease about keeping mine. I put in Alpine SPR-60Cs in the front, SPR-60 in the rear, and two Kicker CVT10 shallow mount subwoofers in a box behind the rear seat. They put a knob to adjust the bass level down by my right knee. Sounds great.....admittedly it's probably more than we needed but my street vibrating friends influenced me.
