To begin with a few facts. My truck is a 2001 Tundra SR5 ext cab. There are 92K miles on the odometer. Also I have owned since it was new. It has been an outstanding vehicle up to this point. Going over it, getting ready for the winter I was shocked at the rust and rot to the main frame. The body panels, rocker panels and every other area are like new. Has anyone else seen a frame go b4 the rockers?? Researching the issue I have found the exact same issue with Tacomas. Contacted both Toyota and my dealer and in a nice, way they both basically told me sorry, tough luck .I even went to the dealership and showed the vehicle to the folks there and they all agreed that this should not have happened. However no one is prepared to offer any help or options .. I do not want to seem to be a crybaby, but I made the assumption that a $32,000 vehicle should last more than 7 years. Again let me state that the rest of the body is nearly perfect, but it main support system is ready to fail. Has anyone experienced the same issue?
