After many miles, the belts take a "set" to the tire body cords. Switching sides reverses this "set" and increases the likelyhood of belt shift, followed quickly by tread separation. This is worse in extremely hot conditions (like the southwest desert areas).

Just my opinion, but I would never change rotation of tires on the Tundra or any car. If you must rotate from side to side, have tire changed on wheel so that it still rotates in the same direction.
