We all understand that CAIs are not going to get us 20hp. They do add a little power maybe 5hp or so but you get a lot better throttle response. They are also a far better improvement over the stock panel type filter. You are correct about the chrome and metal CAI units....they may actually lose power compared to stock because of the heat they retain. You should only use the plastic style CAIs
