I have completed my trip and here are the numbers.
Speed: 65-69 and about 500 - 600 lbs of gear.
all mpg check by miles to gallons with a calculator.
1st fill-up Roanoke, VA 200 miles @18.6 mpg going up and down hills.
Fuel gauge @ a little over 1/2.
2nd fill up 300 miles @22.6 mpg flat to rolling hills all highway.
Fuel guage @ a little under 1/2
3rd fill up 350 miles @18.7 mpg 50 miles city and rest highway.
Fuel gauge @ 1/4

The wierd thing about the trip is that in Roanoke I couldn't find any gas stations that sold anything but the 10% ethanol blend and I got the best milage using it. I am currently @ a little over 1/2 after 230 miles on another tank of 10%. WTF I though I would get worse using 10% and ended up getting better milage. I will probably fill up tomorrow to find the milage for the last leg of the trip.
