With my K&N 77 series the pipe is metal which also transmits the sound of the 381hp v8 better. From the inside it almost sounds like I put an exhaust on. It's almost completely quiet until you step on it then it's really loud. It really gives meaning to the loud peddle. Under steady throttle the K&N does have a slight whistle which may bother some.

do you know if the pipe being metal affects performance any? the 77 and true flow both have metal pipes if I read correctly...
are the true flow and k&n 77 the only ones with metal pipes for 08 Tundras? this
intake site shows all the others as plastic.
