The best thing for this I found out one day when I was trying to get one of my dirt rc cars cleaned up and it worked awesome so now I use it for everything muddy. Go to advance auto walmart or where ever and get the cheapest foaming glass cleaner in an aerosol can that you can buy doesn't matter on brand just spray it on and it just lifts the mud up and you can just wipe it off with a rag. I usually get the glass cleaner from advance when they put on sale buy one get one free. I stock quite a bit usually around 10 cans or so. Also remeber I live in the south and the clay stains everything if you don't get it up.
