I have a Tekonsha Prodigy and the install was easy (compared to my 2000 Taco). There should be a factory harness that came w/your truck. The controller harness wires up to that and the plug is underneath the kick panel on the driver side. Tekonsha provides custom or universal harnesses that you can get. They also provide the chart on their website to wire the controller for your truck. I soldered mine but butt-splice connections are probably fine. Hope it helps.
